Great story by Canada Powered By Women and the importance of energy choice. Canada's diverse geography and "differing energy and supply options exemplify why a one-size-fits-all approach to energy policy doesn't work...access to power is more than just a nice-to-have...This makes it a human right, so it is necessary to tackle the energy supply and affordability challenges of remote and rural communities." https://lnkd.in/ecWihskC #energychoice #energyaffordability #energy #energypolicy

The CPA is disappointed that theCanada Industrial Relations Boardis not recognizing rail as an essential service. This decision will severely impact the millions of Canadians who rely on the goods transported by rail, including propane,an essential energy source used daily for critical services in hospitals, senior facilities, schools, farms, emergency measure services and more. The CPA is hopeful that CN, CPKC and Teamsters Canada will reach a successful conclusion to the negotiations, ensuring continued movement of propane across the country. If not, we expect the federal government to take the necessary action to ensure that rail transportation of propane is not interrupted.#stopthestrike #CdnPoli #RailStrike #SupplyChainCrisis

The CPA applauds Vancouver's decision to reverse the ban on natural gas appliances in new homes. We have consistently called for energy choice. No province in Canada should have a “one-size-fits-all” energy solution. A flexible and adaptable approach to energy policy must consider the needs and potential challenges of all individuals and regions while ensuring affordability and reliable energy choice. Decarbonization is a dial and not a switch. All lower-emission energy options must be considered — including conventional energy sources like natural gas and propane — to help turn the dial more quickly. The Canadian Propane Association was pleased to sponsor and participate in the Keystone Agricultural Producers Golf Tournament last week. It was a great opportunity to engage with stakeholders from the agricultural sector in Manitoba. We extend our gratitude to Ken Fotty from Superior Propane for joining our VP Government Relations (ON and MB) Chris Crawford at the event. The CPA values its collaboration with KAP on issues of shared concern.
